Newpoint Players staged The Dead, adapted by Sean Treanor from James Joyce’s short story, on the 2026 Irish and Northern Irish drama-festival circuit. The production used live music and singing to evoke the social and political tensions of early twentieth-century Dublin alongside the story’s themes of memory, loss and the past.
