This was innovative theatre at its very best.
Résumé par Stageify
An AIMS adjudication of Entr'acte's Sweeney Todd, seen on 19 February 2025 at the O'Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College. The adjudicator finds the society handled Sondheim's demanding score with confidence and praises the originality of the direction and choreography, especially a circus-inspired setting that sharpened the show's darkness. The leads' vocals, acting and comic timing are singled out, and the orchestra, chorus, lighting, sound, set, costumes and make-up are described as excellent. Only minor points are raised, such as a pistol that was not period-accurate.
