La Dispute

In La Dispute, the Prince and Hermiane try to settle whether men or women were first to become unfaithful in love. They observe young people raised apart from the world as they meet one another for the first time. Marivaux turns the experiment into a comedy about desire, vanity and the mechanics of attraction.
