The Lover

Harold Pinter’s one-act play The Lover follows married couple Richard and Sarah, who sustain a carefully separated fantasy life involving imagined lovers. As those roles begin to cross into their everyday marriage, the boundary between domestic routine and performance becomes increasingly unstable. The stage version premiered in London in 1963.
