Ivanov

Ivanov is a play by Anton Chekhov about the landowner Nikolai Ivanov, who is burdened by debt, boredom and a failing marriage while his wife is seriously ill. His relationship with the young Sasha offers no simple escape from his moral and personal crisis. The play was first performed in Moscow in 1887 and was later revised by Chekhov.
