Es war die Lerche

Ephraim Kishon’s comedy “Es war die Lerche” continues the story of Romeo and Juliet: the couple has survived and, decades later, leads a conflict-ridden married life until Shakespeare himself intervenes. The play premiered in 1973 at the Habimah National Theatre in Tel Aviv; the German version is by Friedrich Torberg.
