Ise Papendorf's comedy Die eingebildete Kranke is a modern adaptation of Molière's The Imaginary Invalid. Antonia believes herself to be seriously ill and is exploited by medical professionals and people around her, while family interests, marriage plans and intrigue complicate her imagined illnesses. The adaptation brings the classic story into a contemporary setting through new dialogue, a modified plot and gender-swapped roles.
